CEO transition with Dieter Bergner joining as CEO of Solidus

Oude Pekela, June 17, 2020 – Solidus has appointed Dieter Bergner as its new CEO, effective 1st of July 2020. He will succeed Richard Houben, who has been appointed to the new position of Group Director M&A to drive the ambitious growth strategy.

Dieter Bergner has very extensive, international experience as CEO within the packaging industry, in which he successfully built and led industry leaders. His relevant experience includes the responsibility for European manufacturing organizations within the food divisions of Impress Metal Packaging and Huhtamaki as well as most recently leading PACCOR as CEO under private equity ownership.

Going forward, Richard Houben will dedicate his time to the execution of Solidus’ acquisition strategy in the new and strategically crucial role of Group Director M&A. After many years in the company in different positions, he was appointed as CEO in 2016 and has since overseen the transformation of the business into one of the leading players in the European packaging industry. Executing the acquisitions roadmap and achieving the connected synergies continues to be an essential part of the company’s growth strategy. The experience of previous years have shown that strong focus on acquisition activities is important for the future success of the business.
